COLLABORATE19: April 7-11: New Venue, New Topics!

Written by jczuprynski | Feb 2, 2019 5:33:17 PM

For the seventh year in a row, it’s my honor to be selected to speak at IOUG’s premier annual event, COLLABORATE19 on April 7-11. I’m also excited about our new venue – San Antonio, TX – right on that city’s glorious RiverWalk that features great food, eclectic music and entertainment, and good old Texas hospitality.

However, I seriously doubt I’ll have much time to partake in RiverWalk activities until the end of this year’s conference because yet again COLLABORATE19 will feature top-notch talent presenting nearly a thousand valuable sessions at all experience levels. With the recent release of Oracle 19c, I’m ready to hear more about this feature-laden release, the first of the new Oracle release schedule, from Oracle ACEs, Oracle GroundBreakers, and of course several notable experts from Oracle Corporation.

I’ve got three new topics to share with you:

#116: Vote Early, Vote Often: From Napkin to Canvassing Application in a Single Weekend
Monday, April 8
10:30 – 11:15 AM
Room 212A
I’ve been working on an article series for IOUG SELECT on how a traditional Oracle DBA can successfully make the transition to Application Express. I’ll demonstrate two applications I generated with APEX and explain how simple it is to develop applications using this powerful set of tools.

#117: Conquer Big Data with Oracle 18c, In-Memory External Tables and Analytic Functions
Wednesday, April 10
2:00 – 2:45 PM
Room 214B
I’ll show you how to unleash the power of Database In-Memory in concert with External Tables in multiple formats in Oracle 18c and (hopefully!) 19c.

#118: An Airline Pilot, A Urologist, and a DBA Walk Into a Bar: Thinking Like a Professional
Thursday, April 11
10:30 – 11:15 AM
Room 205
Finally, I’m honored to have been granted a chance to speak on personal development and leadership – a first for me at COLLABORATE! – and of course I’ll be sure to include my usual humorous insights.

You can see summaries of these three presentations so you can judiciously balance your time while attending … but in the meantime, be sure to register for C19TX, and I’ll see you there! Hasta la vista.
