I’ll be attending and presenting at the 2019 Great Lakes Oracle Conference (GLOC19) at the Cleveland Public Auditorium in Cleveland, OH on May 15-16, 2019 … and here’s why you should, too:
Last year’s event was one of the best Midwest-based events I’ve attended for gathering technical knowledge on all things Oracle, and I’m expecting this year’s event to be even better because we’ll have over 75 sessions plus four workshops, including a full day on APEX. I’m especially excited to have a chance to see Toon Koppelars, one of the foremost proponents of #SmartDB, provide his viewpoints on how best to leverage those techniques to build more efficient applications.
I’ll be talking about two of my newest topics: what it’s like for an old-school Oracle DBA to build applications through APEX, and how you can leverage the features of In-Memory External Tables (IMETs) for faster analytics when you just don’t have the time or patience to load a ton of new data directly into your Oracle database. (You can check out summaries of my upcoming presentations here.)
Until then, don’t forget to register for GLOC19 – I’ll see you there!
